10 On The Weekend is a weekly (-ish) feature in IMI, the concept of which is simple: Each time, we ask the same ten questions of a different IMI Pro, letting readers get to know the interviewee on a more personal and informal level than they might during the ordinary course of business.
Our guest this week is Victoria Ciucurel, Director of Sales at RGVISA
How do you spend your weekends?
I spend my weekends with my husband and three young children. I enjoy exploring new cities, trying new restaurants, and meeting new people from all cultures.
What are your top three business goals this year?
My top three business goals are: increase company growth and visibility, network to create meaningful relationships & increase awareness of Romania
What’s your biggest business concern right now?
My biggest business concern is the economic instability seen across the world and the impact this will have on the global landscape.
Which book is on your nightstand right now?
The Death of Ivan Ilyich by Tolstoy
How and when did you first get into the investment migration industry?
I have more than 15 years of experience within the IT sector (managing technical sales) but the love for my country, Romania, and the friendships that I made along the way brought me into this industry to help raise awareness of the beautiful country.
What was your proudest moment as a service provider?
My proudest moment is helping create a “We Give Back” mechanism where a percentage of our profits goes to various non-profit organizations in Romania.
Which investment migration market development has surprised you the most in the last year?
The overwhelming growth in inquiries and searches for the term “Golden Visa.”
Another important industry evolution is that the middle and upper middle class have also been increasingly inquiring about solutions to diversify their global mobility, broadening the parameters of a market that has usually been ultra-high-net-worth dominated.
If you could go ten years back in time, what business decision would you change?
Going back ten years, I would not have chosen to be a data scientist. I should have been more client-facing, as I never realized how fun it is.
What investment migration industry personality do you most admire?
I don’t want to name one person, but instead highlight that I admire professionals in this industry who try to provide holistic advice to clients.
Professionals who take the time to educate and explain with short and long-term goals and strategies.
If all goes according to plan, what will you be doing five years from now?
If everything goes according to plan, I hope to continue bringing innovative investment products and opportunities to my birth country, Romania, and give back to the community for the greater good.
