Thailand Elite Visa Reduces Dependent Fee During Summer

Existing and new Elita Visa holders can save between US$15,500 and US$46,000 per dependent under the limited-time promotion.

Existing and new Elite Visa holders can save between US$15,500 and US$46,000 per dependent under the limited-time promotion.

The Thailand Elite Visa program has launched a summer promotion aimed at encouraging families to include dependents in their long-term residency plans in Thailand.

Running from July 1 to September 30, 2025, the promotion reduces the membership fee for dependents, which it refers to as “Next Members,” to THB 500,000 (US$15,500) across the Platinum (10 years), Diamond (15 years), and Reserve (20 years) membership tiers.

This represents a steep discount from regular fees in those categories, which range from THB 1,000,000 (US$31,000) to THB 2,000,000 (US$62,000) for dependents. New applicants and existing members can take advantage of the offer.

Bastien Trelcat, Managing Partner of Harvey Law Group Thailand, said that the promotion is due to the government’s celebration of the Thailand Grand Tourism and Sport Year 2025, explaining that it aims to make the Elite Visa a more appealing residency option for younger individuals through their families, as opposed to alternatives like student or digital nomad visas.

Trelcat said the summer promotion follows a “surge in applications” for the Thailand Elite Visa after the government introduced the limited-time, single-applicant Bronze tier last December. Thailand set the Bronze tier fee at THB 650,000 (US$20,150) and initially planned to offer it only until June 30, 2025, but strong demand persuaded it to extend the offer through the end of the year.

Trelcat also nodded to a recent draft legislation, which, once in effect, will exempt Thais and foreign residents from paying taxes on foreign-sourced income in the year it is earned and the following year, stating that this proposal “reassures high-net-worth individuals” of their tax privileges in Thailand.

Details of the promotion

To take part in the summer promotion, applicants must submit complete documentation starting July 1, 2025, and complete the payment before the promotion ends on September 30, 2025.

Platinum, Diamond, and Reserve members can add family members as Next Members under this promotion by meeting the standard application requirements.
