4. Professional Experience: The visa targets foreign business owners and individuals affiliated with international companies with at least one year of experience in their respective industries.

Required Documentation

The application process involves several key documents:

  • Visa Application Form: Complete Form No. 17.
  • Passport: Valid passport and a standard-sized photo.
  • Proof of Income: Employment certificate, salary certificate, and bank transaction statements.
  • Criminal Record Certificate: A document proving no criminal record.
  • Medical Insurance Certificate: Proof of adequate medical insurance.
  • Proof of Family Relations: If applying with dependents, provide relevant documents.

Stay Duration and Employment Restrictions

The Digital Nomad Visa allows for an initial stay of one year, which can be renewed for an additional year, totaling a maximum stay of two years. It is important to note that visa holders cannot engage in gainful employment or profit-making activities within South Korea.

Visa Conversion

Individuals currently in South Korea on short-term tourist visas (B-1, B-2, C-3) can transition to the Digital Nomad Visa, provided they meet the necessary requirements.
