Moldova’s Citizenship Program Has Received 23 Applications so Far, State News Agency Reports

Yesterday, IMI reported that Moldova has already granted its first citizenship by investment. Today, Iulia Petuhov, Deputy Director of the Public Services Agency, the CIP’s processing body, informed local press that prospective investor citizens had submitted 23 applications so far.

As expected, today’s press statement contained no identifying details about the so-far only person to have received citizenship through the program, although Deputy Director Petuhov did reveal the person was a male and someone with a background in the IT sector looking to “extend his business in Moldova”.

About the remaining applicants, Petuhov indicated the majority had decided to participate in the program in order to “benefit from the investment opportunities offered by the country’s economy”.
