10 On The Weekend is a weekly (-ish) feature in IMI, the concept of which is simple: Each time, we ask the same ten questions of a different IMI Pro, letting readers get to know the interviewee on a more personal and informal level than they might during the ordinary course of business.
Our guest this week is Ana Ibañez Lario, COO and Co-Founder at Movingto
How do you spend your weekends?
I like to spend my weekends with my family and young children, usually outdoors or by the beach. I also use weekends to reflect on strategy and long-term growth for our global relocation business.
What are your top three business goals this year?
Expanding our global footprint, increasing qualified inbound leads, and building stronger partnerships with trusted legal and investment providers in Europe and the Caribbean.
What’s your biggest business concern right now?
Navigating constant regulatory changes across multiple jurisdictions while maintaining high service quality and compliance standards.
Which book is on your nightstand right now?
A mix of business strategy and personal development books; currently focused on leadership and scaling international teams.
How and when did you first get into the investment migration industry?
I entered the investment migration and relocation space through first-hand experience helping families relocate internationally.
This evolved into building a global advisory platform focused on trusted guidance and due diligence.
What was your proudest moment as a service provider?
Helping families successfully secure residency and build a new life abroad, especially those relocating with young children like us.
Which investment migration market development has surprised you the most in the last year?
The sharp increase in US-based clients actively seeking a “Plan B” residency or passport as a hedge against political, tax, and lifestyle uncertainty.
If you could go ten years back in time, what business decision would you change?
I would have invested earlier and more consistently in content marketing to build long-term inbound demand rather than relying so heavily on referrals and short-term channels.
What investment migration industry personality do you most admire?
I admire leaders who have helped professionalize the investment migration industry by pushing for higher compliance standards, transparency, and long-term program sustainability.
If all goes according to plan, what will you be doing five years from now?
Leading a global relocation and investment migration platform with strong regulatory partnerships and a technology-driven client experience.
