The Albania Pensioners Residency program grants long-term residency to foreign retirees who meet specific financial and accommodation requirements.
Applicants must have an annual pension income of at least 1,200,000 ALL (approximately $23,727 USD) and transfer their pension to an Albanian bank, to get renewable one-year residence permits that could lead to citizenship.
To qualify for the Albania Pensioners Residency, applicants must meet the following requirements:

To qualify for Albanian permanent residence, applicants must legally reside in Albania for at least 5 continuous years.
After holding permanent residence for an additional 2 years (a total of 7 years of legal residence), applicants become eligible to apply for Albanian citizenship.

The European Commission again cautions Albania “as a candidate country” not to open a CIP, a warning the country has already brushed off.
The agency preparing the CIP says “the winning company will be chosen based on the expertise and experience it offers in this field.”
