The Albania Pensioners Residency program grants long-term residency to foreign retirees who meet specific financial and accommodation requirements.

Applicants must have an annual pension income of at least 1,200,000 ALL (approximately $23,727 USD) and transfer their pension to an Albanian bank, to get renewable one-year residence permits that could lead to citizenship.

How to Qualify

To qualify for the Albania Pensioners Residency, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Demonstrate Proof of Pension Income

  • Applicants must show an annual pension income of at least 1,200,000 ALL (approximately US$23,727).

Transfer Pension to an Albanian Bank

  • Evidence of pension transfer to a second-tier bank in Albania is required.

Provide Proof of Health Insurance

  • Applicants must submit a valid health insurance certificate covering their stay in Albania.

Show Proof of Suitable Accommodation

  • Applicants must provide a lease agreement or certificate of ownership for housing in Albania.

Submit a Judicial Records Certificate

  • Applicants must provide a criminal record certificate, legalized by their home country.

Medical Report

  • A certified medical report confirming the applicant’s psychotherapeutic and psychological condition is required.

Personal Statement of Stay Purpose

  • Applicants must submit a declaration explaining their reason for residing in Albania.
