10 On The Weekend is a weekly (-ish) feature in IMI, the concept of which is simple: Each time, we ask the same ten questions of a different IMI Pro, letting readers get to know the interviewee on a more personal and informal level than they might during the ordinary course of business.

Our guest this week is Adam Juchniewicz, founder of 21 CBI

How do you spend your weekends?

I spend my weekends trying to catch up on work. I’m slowly learning to relax more these days, but it’s difficult. Old habits die hard.

What are your top three business goals this year?

My three business goals are:

  • To help as many Bitcoiners get second citizenship,
  • Increase CBI industry awareness and acceptance of Bitcoin as a legitimate payment method, and
  • Expand 21 CBI as a brand.

What’s your biggest business concern right now?

Certain countries are leveraging control over their own citizens. It causes capital to flee, such as in the case of the UK.

Which book is on your nightstand right now?

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I can never stop being amazed by his prose.

How and when did you first get into the investment migration industry?

I made a career change in 2023 and decided to attend law school in Malta after working more than a decade as a US federal employee.

I started doing CBI in 2024 after writing my legal thesis in defence of Malta’s CBI programme.

What was your proudest moment as a service provider?

Seeing my first client receive their passport. That was a great feeling.

We were able to solve a problem point in their life and did it with Bitcoin.

Which investment migration market development has surprised you the most in the last year?

The decision by the ECJ against Malta. That legal decision didn’t destroy the market in Malta, but it created a moment to reflect.

Governments and courts are not always in favor of this industry, so it’s important to take advantage of opportunities while they still exist.

If you could go ten years back in time, what business decision would you change?

I would have bought more Bitcoin! Easiest decision ever.

What investment migration industry personality do you most admire?

I truly admire David Lesperance. He’s an encyclopedia of US tax knowledge, despite not even being American.

He is just an all-around brilliant lawyer.

If all goes according to plan, what will you be doing five years from now?

I will continue doing what I do now.

I love helping clients solve complex problems: whether it’s related to banking, business, or second citizenship.

How prepared are you for sudden geopolitical shifts?
