The Top 3 Reasons Why Immigrant Investors Choose Ireland

IDLF’s COO Andrew Parish explains how Ireland has, in a very short time, become one of Europe’s most popular residence by investment destinations.

Ireland is – and will remain – part of the European Union

“Unlike our neighbors in the UK,” says Parish, “we are fully intending to stay in Europe. So, very soon, after Brexit, we will be the only English-speaking country in the EU”.

Parish also explains that Ireland enjoys unencumbered travel to the UK, through the Common Travel Area (CTA), which is expected to remain unchanged after Brexit.

“As citizens and residents in Ireland, we can travel freely to the UK without going through any border controls or bringing a passport,” he adds.

Ireland is home to some of the world’s best universities

“We have some of the top universities in the world. In fact, in Europe, Trinity College in Dublin has produced more entrepreneurs than any other university in Europe. We have a culture of making sure that all of our children and adults are very well educated in Ireland. That has both attracted inward investment for companies because they can attract that talent, but it also makes it attractive for overseas investors to come with their families,” Parish points out.

Ireland has a stable and rapidly growing economy

“We’re the fastest growing economy in Europe for the fourth successive year,” notes Parish, adding that Ireland has one of the greatest track records in the world of attracting foreign direct investment.
