
Rwandan Cabinet Approves Law That Would Define Criteria for Investor Naturalization
Rwanda becomes the fourth African country in two years to publicly consider plans for citizenship by investment.
The Rwanda Assured Income Residence program grants residency to foreign nationals with a guaranteed income who wish to live in Rwanda without pursuing employment or business activities. It primarily caters to retirees.
The permit is valid for up to two years, is renewable, and may lead to citizenship after five years.
To qualify for the Rwanda Assured Income Residence, applicants must provide the following:
Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV):
A comprehensive CV outlining the applicant’s personal and professional background.
Police Clearance Certificate:
An original police clearance certificate from the applicant’s country of residence for the previous six months.
Proof of Income:
Proof of assured income status.
Bank Statement:
A bank statement from any bank in Rwanda demonstrating financial stability.
Application Letter:
A formal application letter addressed to the relevant authorities.
Local Medical Insurance:
Proof of medical insurance purchased from a provider in Rwanda.
Foreign nationals residing in Rwanda on a retiree residence permit may apply for Rwandan citizenship through naturalisation if they meet the following eligibility requirements:
