Malta Doubles No. of CBI-Accredited Agents in 5 Months, Dominica Cuts it by Half

Having dropped by 70% in the wake of the Cyprus CIP closure in November last year, the number of locally accredited CBI agents worldwide is growing once more. Peaking at 1,026 in the fall of 2020, global agent headcount had fallen to 307 by March this year following the much-publicized scandal in Cyprus, which drove the attrition of 611 licensees, or 60% of the global roster of CBI agents.

In the year preceding the Cyprus plunge, the global total had grown by some 10%. Now, agent numbers are growing again globally, though by no means in equal measure. Five programs saw numbers rise (the greatest relative expansion was observed in Malta, where numbers more than doubled), two programs had no change in numbers, and one program made a sharp reduction in listings.
