The Vietnam Investor Visa (codes DT1-DT4) allows foreign investors to gain residency by carrying out active investment activities in Vietnam.
The visa’s duration varies from 12 months (DT4) to 5 years renewable (DT1), based on the investment amount, which ranges from VND 3 billion (US$120,000) to VND 100 billion (US$4 million).
While the program offers a path to citizenship in as little as five years, it requires Vietnamese language proficiency and the renunciation of all other citizenships.
DT1: Investment of VND 100 billion (US$4 million) or more in priority sectors/regions
DT2: Investment of VND 50 billion to VND 100 billion (US$2 million to US$4 million)
DT3: Investment of VND 3 billion to VND 50 billion (US$120,000 to US$2 million)

After residing in Vietnam for a total of five years, foreigners can apply for Vietnamese citizenship after renouncing their other nationalities, subject to mastery of the Vietnamese language.
