Ten On The Weekend

Ten On The Weekend – Hannah Ma: 16 Years in Investment Migration With the Same Company

10 On The Weekend is a weekly (-ish) feature in IMI, the concept of which is simple: Each time, we ask the same ten questions of a different IMI Pro, letting readers get to know the interviewee on a more personal and informal level than they might in an ordinary business setting.

Our guest this week is Hannah Ma, Group Head of Global Business Development at Globevisa.

How do you spend your weekends?

I’m a fairly traditional mom. On weekends, I usually engage in activities such as preparing traditional Chinese meals, attending Taekwondo classes with my daughter, helping her with homework, exploring parks or sightseeing spots together, or occasionally taking a short trip to Johor Bahru, Malaysia, for a relaxing night in a hotel.

What are your top 3 business goals this year?

  • To expand Globevisa by opening five additional offices.
  • To establish an international marketing team and enhance both group and local marketing capabilities.
  • Increase Globevisa’s brand awareness, extending beyond industry players to reach the broader individual market.

What’s your biggest business concern right now?

Changing our marketing strategy from traditional search engine optimization to social media and webinars and adapting our successful experience in China to the international market.

Which book is on your nightstand right now?

1984 by George Orwell.

How and when did you get into the investment migration industry?

A message from our partners
Middle East Road Show Ad

I’ve spent practically my whole career in this field. I first got into it almost 16 years ago, on March 27th, 2008, when I joined Globevisa in their Beijing office.

What was your proudest moment as a service provider?

It’s every time the client’s application is approved and their dream to relocate to their ideal country comes true.

Which investment migration market development has surprised you the most in the last year?

I’ve been surprised that the US has become the largest outbound market for Portugal’s Golden Visa program and several other programs.

If you could go ten years back in time, what business decision would you change?

I would relocate with my family to Singapore earlier and start the expansion of Globevisa earlier.

What investment migration industry personality do you most admire?

I admire Austin Fragomen, who, in my opinion, made the immigration legal service a respectful industry.

If all goes according to plan, what will you be doing five years from now?

Living with my family in the Middle East, the US, or Africa to help with Globevisa’s local offices and traveling all over the world to help with global operations.
