10 On The Weekend is a weekly (-ish) feature in IMI, the concept of which is simple: Each time, we ask the same ten questions of a different IMI Pro, letting readers get to know the interviewee on a more personal and informal level than they might during the ordinary course of business.
Our guest this week is Alexandre Cunha Elias, Business Development Director at 3CC (3 Comma Capital)
How do you spend your weekends?
I spend my weekends eating out, playing padel, and spending quality time with my family, my wife Carla, and my two children, Carlota and João.
I occasionally dedicate some time to work, especially if it involves strategizing or preparing for the week ahead. Fitness is also an essential part of my routine, so you’ll often find me at the gym.
What are your top three business goals this year?
- Achieving €10 million in AuM in our Golden Visa-eligible fund, the 3CC Portugal Golden Income Fund.
- Becoming a small equity partner at 3 Comma Capital SCR, S.A..
- Establishing 3 Comma Capital as Portugal’s most reliable and innovative asset management firm, especially in the Golden Visa space.
What’s your biggest business concern right now?
Hiring talented individuals who excel professionally and align with our culture and vision. Talent acquisition is critical for our growth and success.
Which book is on your nightstand right now?
Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity by Dr. Peter Attia. It’s a fascinating read on optimizing health and quality of life, blending science with practical advice.
How and when did you first get into the investment migration industry?
Almost seven months ago, when I joined 3 Comma Capital.
My role involves helping launch the firm’s first Golden Visa-eligible investment fund. Contributing to this innovative space and witnessing its impact firsthand has been an exciting challenge.
What was your proudest moment as a service provider?
Helping 3 Comma Capital successfully launch the Portugal Golden Income Fund, a CMVM-regulated investment vehicle designed for Golden Visa investors.
Seeing the trust and confidence of our investors validates our team’s hard work and dedication.
Which investment migration market development has surprised you the most in the last year?
The surge in interest from the US market.
It’s fascinating to see how US investors increasingly seek European residency options to diversify and secure their future.
If you could go ten years back in time, what business decision would you change?
I would have pursued the investment fund industry earlier. It’s a dynamic and intellectually stimulating field, offering more strategic opportunities compared to real estate.
What investment migration industry personality do you most admire?
Dr. Christian H. Kälin stands out for his pioneering contributions to the industry.
His strategic vision around HNWI, global citizenship, borderless assets (crypto assets), and his ability to shape the narrative around investment migration have been inspiring.
If all goes according to plan, what will you be doing five years from now?
Five years from now, I see myself thriving in my current roles—sales, business development, investor relations, and client relationship management, but with a broader scope and more impactful projects under my belt.
On a personal note, I hope to have started building my dream house from scratch.
