A growing number of families are revisiting a question they once considered settled: Is the country they call home still the right place to be based?

That question often leads to others, such as where to establish a second residence, whether a second passport is worth pursuing, how to structure and diversify their wealth across borders, and what a move would mean for their children’s education, their healthcare, and the way they want to live in the decades ahead.

Information on residency and citizenship programs is everywhere. What is hard to find is accurate, actionable advice that connects immigration with wealth and family priorities and helps a family make confident decisions.

That is the premise of the Wealth & Migration Summit, which Global Citizen Solutions hosts at the EPIC SANA Hotel in Lisbon this November.

Why Lisbon, Why Now

Portugal has become home to one of Europe’s largest communities of internationally mobile families. Many arrived through the Golden Visa, which has seen changes to its investment routes, or for the NHR tax regime that has since been replaced by IFICI.

Some are now frustrated by lengthy delays, changing rules, and inconsistent outcomes, and are looking at what else is available.

At the same time, Portugal remains one of Europe’s most attractive destinations, valued for its quality of life, safety, climate, and welcoming culture. It is high on the list for families abroad, particularly in the US and UK, who want to understand residence options, investments, and the local ecosystem before they commit.

The Whole Picture, Then the Detail

Day One, The New Geography of Wealth & Mobility, opens with the big picture: The future of global mobility and where wealth is moving. The main stage then turns to programs and policy.

Sessions will cover St. Kitts and Nevis and the evolution of Caribbean citizenship, why countries are competing for investors and wealth creators, and the real impact of Golden Visa investments on Portugal’s economy and society.

The afternoon looks at Europe’s residence routes in 2027, visa pathways to the United States for investors and global talent, and why asset location now matters as much as asset allocation. The day closes with a practical checklist on banking, healthcare, and everyday logistics abroad.

Day Two, Global Wealth & the International Family, explores how these programs fit the lives and plans of families. Bankers and wealth advisors discuss diversification and how international families structure their wealth. Panels take a frank look at building a Plan B, C, and D in a changing world.

The afternoon turns to longevity and the 100-year life, philanthropy as a way to put down roots in a new country, and raising children across borders. Day Two closes with a guided Portuguese wine experience.

In the breakout workshops, specialists from Global Citizen Solutions run small-group sessions on Portugal, Italy, Spain, Greece, Malta, Panama, and the Caribbean, working through eligibility, timelines, and practicalities.

The aim is simple. Every attendee should leave with a clear next step on residence, citizenship, or relocation, not just a stack of notes.

Who Will Be There

Confirmed speakers include Patricia Casaburi, Founder & CEO at Global Citizen Solutions; H.E. Calvin St. Juste, Executive Chairman of the St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit; Mehdi Kadiri, President at Global Citizen Solutions; Alex Muscat, Maltese MP and former Parliamentary Secretary for Citizenship; Bruno L’ecuyer, Co-founder of the Investment Migration Council; Athanassios (Thanos) Tsoukalas, Legal Manager, Greece at AT Legal; and Ayoub Rebroub, Legal Manager, Malta at Endevio Group.

They appear alongside Bernardo Meyrelles of EFG; Albert Morgenstern of ESADE Business School, who brings the tax perspective to cross-border planning; and longevity researcher Dr. Nina Patrick, among more than 20 speakers from banking, investment, education, and family advisory. The Summit will also host representatives from Citi Private Bank, EFG, and Julius Baer, and Banco Atlantico will be part of the event.

Country specialists from around the world lead the workshops, so attendees hear directly from the people who handle the applications every day.

CNN Portugal will cover the Summit, bringing the conversations on mobility and wealth to a wider audience.

Who Should Attend

The Summit is curated for global individuals and families making their own decisions, from foreign residents in Portugal considering a Plan B or a move elsewhere to families abroad weighing Portugal as their next base. For them, it is a chance to decide with the right information before they commit.

It is also built for advisors, intermediaries, and institutions serving internationally mobile clients, from law and tax firms to banks, family offices, and wealth managers, with direct access to government representatives, program specialists, and private bankers in one place.

Attendance is capped at 200 attendees. The format leaves room for real conversation, with morning networking, breaks, and lunches on both days so attendees can follow up directly with speakers and country specialists.
