Slovakia Business Residence

Slovakia offers a Business Residence Permit for foreign entrepreneurs who establish or manage companies in Slovakia. Successful applicants receive a 2-year renewable residence permit, which can lead to permanent residence after 5 years and citizenship after 8 years of continuous residence.

The program requires registering a Slovak company and maintaining business activities, with different financial requirements based on the type of business activity.

How to Qualify

To qualify for the Slovakia Residence for the Purpose of Business, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Business Registration:

Applicants must establish a business in Slovakia, such as a sole proprietorship, limited liability company, or another legal entity, and provide proof of business registration with the Slovak Commercial Register.

Proof of Sufficient Financial Resources:

Applicants must demonstrate that they have sufficient financial resources to sustain themselves during their stay in Slovakia. The required amount depends on the type of applicant:

For Individual Applicants:

Applicants must show funds amounting to 20 times the monthly subsistence minimum for living expenses.

  • Current subsistence minimum€273.99 per month.
  • Required amount: 20 × €273.99 = €5,479.80.

For Company Representatives:

Applicants representing a company must prove they have 100 times the monthly subsistence minimum.

  • Required amount: 100 × €273.99 = €27,399.00.

For Business Operations (if applicable):

Proof of sufficient funds is also required for the business itself. The amount depends on the type and scale of the business:

  • €20,000 for sole proprietors.
  • €100,000 or more for limited liability companies.

Financial resources must be demonstrated through bank statements, balance confirmations, or other financial documents showing the required amounts.

Accommodation Evidence:

Applicants must provide proof of suitable accommodation in Slovakia, such as a lease agreement, property ownership document, or a statement from a host.

Proof of Health Insurance:

Applicants must provide documentation of valid health insurance covering the duration of their stay in Slovakia.

Clean Criminal Record:

Applicants must submit a criminal record certificate from their country of origin and any country where they have resided for more than 90 days in the last three years.

Valid Travel Document:

A photocopy of a valid travel document, such as a passport, is required.
