US Gov’t Launches Website and Waiting List for $5m Trump Card

“Thousands have been calling and asking,” said the US President as the official Trump Card website went live.

“For five million dollars, the Trump Card is coming!” declared President Donald Trump on Wednesday via his Truth Social account, announcing the launch of the official website for the Trump Gold Card.

The site invites applicants to join a waiting list by submitting their name, region, email address, and application details. Applicants must specify whether they are applying individually or as a business, and indicate if they are seeking residency for themselves, a spouse, or other family members.

When selecting the business option, applicants can apply for 1–4, 5–9, or 10+ individuals, indicating that they may include employees or business partners. But exactly how this will work and whether the $5 million price tag will cover all individuals in a business application remain unclear.

The Trump Card website prominently displays an image of the gold-colored card, embossed with Trump’s face, and has a form for applicants to register their interest. The form allows applicants to select one of eight regions: Europe, Asia (including the Middle East), North America, Oceania, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, or Africa.

After completing the form, applicants receive a verification code, which they must enter within ten minutes to confirm their submission. The website reassures users: “Your Journey Begins. You’ll be the first to hear when access opens.”

In his post, Trump said that “thousands have been calling and asking how to register” for the $5 million residency card. The Trump Card is set to offer wealthy foreign investors a pathway to permanent US residency, green card privileges, and an expedited route to citizenship.

The Trump Card’s unveiling

Trump announced the donation-based residency program in February alongside Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, framing it then as a replacement for the long-standing EB-5 Immigrant Investor Visa program, which Lutnick criticized as “full of nonsense.”

Experts have since downplayed this possibility, arguing that only Congress can alter or terminate the EB-5 program, expecting that Trump can only kill EB-5 through policy. Many suggest the two programs will likely coexist until at least 2027, when Congress is due to renew the EB-5 mandate.

The Trump Card’s $5 million nonrefundable price tag will make it one of the most expensive investor visa programs globally, far surpassing the EB-5 program, which allows applicants to secure green cards by investing between $800,000 and $1.05 million in US projects that create or preserve 10 jobs. In March, Lutnick claimed to have already sold 1000 Gold Cards.

Trump has promoted the Trump Card as a “beautiful road” to US residency and, ultimately, citizenship. The administration has yet to clarify the vetting process or the path to citizenship, which legally requires holding a Green Card for a minimum of five years. White House officials have promised additional details in the coming weeks.
