The Nepal Investor Residence program offers foreign investors a pathway to long-term residence through a minimum US$100,000 investment in an industrial business, with no physical presence requirements.
The program allows investors and their family members to establish residence in Nepal through qualifying investments in the industrial sector, with renewals available to maintain residential status.
To qualify for the Nepal Investor Residence, applicants must meet the following criteria:
The program requires only a capital injection, with no active management or operational involvement. Investors maintain their status through share ownership and business compliance rather than day-to-day participation in the enterprise.
After 15 consecutive years of lawful residence in Nepal, an investor may apply for citizenship through naturalization.
To obtain citizenship, the applicant must demonstrate the ability to speak and write Nepali, maintain good moral character with no criminal record, and renounce all previous citizenships.
Although Nepal does not offer traditional permanent residency, an investor can maintain long-term residence through renewable residential visas.
Nepal does not recognize dual citizenship.
