The Lebanon Independent Means Residence allows foreign nationals to obtain residency by demonstrating financial self-sufficiency through a locked bank deposit, though applicants are prohibited from working in Lebanon.
Applicants must maintain a deposit of at least LBP4.5 billion (US$50,000) in a Lebanese bank account locked for at least 3 months.
Holders may include dependents, and may apply for citizenship after 10 years of legal residence.

Applicants must commit not to work or seek employment in Lebanon during their residency period. This commitment must be formalized through a notarized document submitted with the application.

Upon approval, applicants receive a permanent residence permit valid for three years, which is renewable provided they maintain the bank deposit.
After completing ten years of continuous legal residency in Lebanon, a foreign national may apply for citizenship through naturalization.
Applicants must demonstrate continuous residence, good conduct, and knowledge of the Arabic language.
