Argentina has a citizenship by investment (CBI) program on paper and almost no certainty about what it becomes in practice. Thresholds, timing, eligibility: The government is not saying, and the market cannot stop talking about it.
So we convened three people who know how Argentina actually works. They give a candid, off-the-record read on where the program goes and what could stop it.
The Panel
Andrés Echevarría chairs Vivanco & Vivanco and practices investment migration law, dual-licensed in Argentina and the United States. Georgetown- and Harvard-educated and a Fulbright Scholar, he has made the Top 25 EB-5 Attorneys list twice. He advises private clients and governments alike on drafting national investment migration frameworks, the exact work Argentina is now attempting.
Francisco Isetta of Mercatus Consulting works on business development and investment projects across Argentina for local and foreign companies. That gives him a close view of how capital actually moves into the country.
Paula Carello is an Argentine immigration and citizenship lawyer, founder of Lux Brumalis, and President of Fundación Migra. She advised Argentina’s National Directorate of Migration before moving to private practice, which puts her on both sides of the system the program will run through.
