Approved applicants receive immediate permanent residency in Anguilla. After five years of lawful residency in Anguilla, applicants are eligible for British Overseas Citizenship.
This greatly reduces the pathway to citizenship time. Under this program the naturalisation process to become a British Oversees Territory Citizen (BOTC) requires that the applicant has been lawfully residing in Anguilla for 5 years prior to the date of application. Under normal residence procedures the time spent in Anguilla would need to be 10 years to qualify for BOTC citizenship.
BOTC’s may apply for full British citizenship provided they undergo a process of registration.

After 5 years of living legally on the island, persons holding permanent residence under this scheme can apply for the BOTC and UK/EU passports.

Anguilla’s planned residence programs – which the concessionaire expects to open in Q2 2019 – will include options for lump-sum tax, real estate acquisition, and donations to a government fund.
