IMI Connect Athens was a by-invitation-only event for the investment migration professionals in the IMI community. You learned from, cultivated relationships with, and had an unforgettable time with your fellow community members in a series of pleasant, historic, and unique venues.
As is our custom, we warmed up for the days ahead with a leisurely open-air cocktail to catch up with old friends and meet new ones.
This time, our opening night took place at the legendary 150-year-old Athens Club.
Historically presided over by the Kings of Greece, this hyper-exclusive gentleman’s club has counted among its members no fewer than 29 prime ministers alongside countless members from the top echelons of Greek society.
As always, we offered some light food and kept an open bar throughout, courtesy of our Cocktail Partner MIBS Group.
The backdrop to our private (yet open) discussions was genuinely unique:
Unobstructed views of all the city’s iconic sights, including the Acropolis and the Parthenon, the Temple of Apollo, Mount Lycabettus, and many more.
This is also the hotel at which most of us stayed.
Beverages and snacks of all kinds were available throughout, and lunch was served at 13:00.
Following a day of serious discussions, we changed venues to start the fun:
First, we enjoyed dinner and dessert, courtesy of Mercan Group.
Then, for some, the main event was our customary Trivia contest, in partnership with the Hellenic Investment Fund.
With many former champions among our guests, the title was hotly contested this year.
In the morning after, we rejoined for an al-fresco brunch along the Athenian Riviera.
Everyone used the opportunity to say goodbye to the friends they’d made.
Our brunch took place at Ark, an award-winning restaurant located right on the water’s edge in the iconic Asteria of the Athenian Riviera.
We enjoyed a wide selection of breakfast items, including fresh fruits, pastries, eggs, sandwiches, and more.
For many of you, this was your first trip to Athens. You took the opportunity to see the main sights of this ancient city with your friends and colleagues (all on the company’s dime, of course).
After brunch, we organized an excursion to Acropolis and Mt Lycabettus, as well as the surrounding area.
IMI Connect is a for-the-industry, by-the-industry event. Our guests meet IMI contributors, partners, and readers like yourself.
They come to talk frankly and off-the-cuff about the challenges and opportunities facing RCBI professionals, not to make dull and repetitive presentations about particular projects. Speakers and panelists were selected based on their relevant expertise, not based on sponsorship alone.
